ECTs 2 year statutory induction period formally starts when they are registered with an Appropriate Body.
Even if your ECT is registered on a full induction programme, such as this one offered by Embrace Teaching School Hub in partnership with TeachFirst, it remains a statutory requirement that they are registered with an Appropriate Body, who is responsible for registering them with the Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA).
Embrace Teaching School Hub's Appropriate Body service, running alongside our ECF Induction, provides seamless support across the statutory induction and ECF entitlements, which ultimately reduces the workload for Induction Leads.
The Appropriate Body service is also available as a standalone service, for example: where ECTs may be registered on a full induction programme elsewhere; where schools have chosen to run a Core Induction Programme, or develop their own 'DIY' programme; although the latter two options would incur additional costs due to the extra work involved.

2 Monitor Assessment
- (On recommendation from the Headteacher/ Principal) Make the final decision as to whether the ECT has satisfactorily met the Teacher Standards

These charges are fixed until 31st August 2024 and will be reviewed annually, with any changes taking effect from 1st September the following year.
